Fire Incident at Thrissur Railway Station

On Sunday, a significant fire broke out in the parking area of Thrissur Railway Station in Kerala, resulting in the destruction of hundreds of two-wheelers, as reported by fire and rescue service officials.


According to officials, the blaze ignited around 6:30 AM in the paid parking section, with the fire department receiving notification at approximately 6:45 AM. It is believed that a spark from an electric line may have caused the fire, landing on a two-wheeler that was covered.


Estimates suggest that around 400 two-wheelers were parked in the area, with most of them being consumed by the flames. Firefighters deployed three fire engines and managed to control the fire by about 7:45 AM.


In addition to the two-wheelers, the entire parking area, which was covered with tin sheets, also suffered damage from the fire. Fire officials indicated that an investigation has been initiated by the police and railway authorities to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
