Significant Drug Seizure by Authorities

On Tuesday, the Finance Ministry announced that the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has successfully confiscated 270 kilograms of methamphetamine, valued at ₹81 crores, and apprehended six individuals involved in the operation.

The illicit drugs were ingeniously concealed beneath poultry feed intended for domestic use, showcasing a new tactic employed by traffickers to evade detection.

During a coordinated operation conducted across several states on January 11-12, DRI officials intercepted a truck loaded with agricultural products in Rajasthan. A thorough inspection revealed the hidden stash of methamphetamine.

The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at ₹81 crores. The driver of the vehicle, along with members of the trafficking ring involved in the transport and security of the drugs, were arrested at the scene.

Subsequent searches in various locations across Haryana led to the capture of additional key members of the gang, who were implicated in the production and distribution of the confiscated substances.
