Massive Celebration in Bengaluru for RCB's IPL Trophy Win
Bengaluru Celebrates RCB's Historic IPL Victory
The Royal Challengers Bangalore's triumph in the IPL sparked a massive celebration in Bengaluru, drawing nearly 800,000 fans to congratulate the team. Karnataka's Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, reported that the city witnessed an unprecedented turnout to celebrate RCB's first IPL trophy win.
On the day of the festivities, approximately 870,000 metro tickets were sold, indicating a significant influx of cricket enthusiasts in Bengaluru. The minister estimated that around 100,000 people gathered outside Vidhana Soudha and an additional 25,000 near the stadium. He remarked, "We did not anticipate such a turnout of 250,000 people. With 870,000 metro tickets sold, it is likely that 800,000 were cricket fans who attended the event."
Describing the turnout as extraordinary, the Home Minister acknowledged that the crowd exceeded expectations. He noted that there had been no prior instance of such a large gathering for cricket. He added, "If it had been a better event, it would have set a record. I have spoken with RCB and KSCA about this."
Tragic Incident Amidst the Celebration
Reports indicate that the majority of attendees at the event were young individuals. All the deceased were under the age of 40, including 13-year-old Divyanshi, who tragically became the youngest victim in the stampede. Other young victims included Shivling (17), Chinmayi (19), and Prajwal (20). Most attendees arrived in groups, eager to witness the grand celebration for RCB's first IPL trophy in 18 years.
