Uttar Pradesh's Extensive Tree Planting Initiative
On Wednesday, a significant tree plantation campaign took place across all districts and divisions of Uttar Pradesh, resulting in the planting of an impressive 372.1 million saplings.
According to a press release, Sonbhadra district led this green initiative, achieving the highest number of saplings planted at 15,888,285, making it the frontrunner among the 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh. Following closely were Jhansi with 9.951 million, Lakhimpur Kheri with 9.675 million, Jalaun with 9.566 million, and Mirzapur with 7 million saplings.
