Protests Mark 'Yaum-e-Quds' in Budgam

On the occasion of 'Yaum-e-Quds', thousands gathered in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, to demonstrate solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and Iran. A significant crowd assembled at the Markazi Imambada, after which participants peacefully marched towards the main square of Budgam. In Lucknow, a similar protest took place at Bara Imambada following Friday prayers, led by Shia cleric Kalbe Jawad Naqvi, who criticized the United States and called for condemnation of its actions related to the Iran conflict.

Call for Stronger Support for Iran

Speaking to a news outlet, Kalbe Jawad Naqvi expressed that Iran is completely vulnerable, facing bombings and attacks from the U.S. He lamented that India has not condemned these actions, stating that the country has adopted a negative stance towards Iran, which has shown compassion towards India by allowing its oil tankers to dock. He urged that the U.S. should be prevented from conducting attacks, and if not, the world should boycott both the U.S. and Israel.

He further emphasized that India should adopt a firmer international stance in support of Iran. When asked about the recent discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, he remarked that this initiative came too late, suggesting that the Prime Minister should have addressed the issue sooner, as the current dialogue seems meaningless. Meanwhile, extensive security measures were implemented across various regions in Uttar Pradesh for the last Friday prayers of Ramadan.

Enhanced Security Measures in Sambhal

In Sambhal, security personnel were deployed outside the Royal Jama Masjid to ensure the safety of worshippers attending prayers. Additional police forces were stationed in sensitive areas to maintain law and order. ASP North Kuldeep Singh stated that in preparation for the farewell Friday prayers, two companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary, along with civil police units, were deployed at the site. He added that senior officials, including those at his level, would remain on high alert throughout the day, especially during prayer times, and would maintain constant communication.
