Major Deportation Operation

In a significant operation, 250 illegal Bangladeshi nationals were deported from Gujarat to Dhaka. This deportation was carried out under tight security using a special aircraft from the Indian Air Force, departing from Vadodara Air Force Station. Stringent security measures were implemented to ensure the operation's safety, including handcuffing all Bangladeshi nationals to prevent any untoward incidents. They were transported to the airport under police protection from various locations across the state.

Part of Ongoing Crackdown on Illegal Immigrants

This action is part of a larger crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing in Gujarat. Over the past two months, more than 1,200 illegal Bangladeshi nationals have been identified and deported from the state. The state government is intensifying efforts to expel all unauthorized foreign nationals in coordination with central security agencies.

Focus on Major Urban Centers

The operation has been particularly active in major urban centers such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot. These cities have witnessed a notable increase in the number of illegal immigrants, prompting police and intelligence agencies to enhance monitoring and verification efforts. As part of this initiative, officials are conducting thorough document checks to identify individuals residing in India using fake identification papers. Many detainees were found to possess counterfeit Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and other identification documents.
