Manu Bhaker Celebrates 10 Years in Shooting with Reflection on Her Journey
A Decade of Dedication
Manu Bhaker, a two-time Olympic medalist and renowned shooter, celebrated ten years in her shooting career today. She took to social media to share her reflections on the journey, highlighting both the challenges and triumphs she has faced.
In her Instagram post, Bhaker expressed that reaching this milestone has been an inspiring experience, recalling her initial passion and commitment to the sport. She emphasized that her family has been a steadfast source of support throughout her highs and lows.
"Today marks a decade in my sport. I never imagined my journey would be so rewarding and inspiring. I vividly remember receiving my first Indian team jersey, which I wore constantly, even during the summer. I dedicated all my time to practicing with my pistols, even in the face of challenges," she shared.
Olympic Achievements and National Pride
Among her significant accomplishments, Bhaker brought immense pride to India during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won two bronze medals—one in the individual 10m air pistol event and another in mixed doubles. Her contributions were vital to India's overall medal tally of six at the Games, placing her among the elite Indian shooters with multiple Olympic medals and reinforcing her status as a leading athlete in the country.
Inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita
In her Instagram reflection, Bhaker mentioned that as she prepared for the Paris 2024 Olympics, she sought guidance from the Bhagavad Gita to help her move past the disappointment of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where she faced a setback due to a gun malfunction.
"As I approached Paris 2024, I was flooded with memories of Tokyo 2020. I turned to the Bhagavad Gita, which empowered me to overcome my past and build strength for my present and future," she stated.
