Manjeet Secures Silver Medal in Javelin

Indian para-athlete Manjeet achieved a remarkable feat by winning the silver medal in the men's javelin throw F13 category at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games. He set a personal best with a throw of 61.03 meters on Wednesday, contributing to India's overall medal count of 46 at that moment.

Manjeet's impressive throw came during his second attempt in the F12/13 competition, ensuring his place on the podium in the F13 category. This season has been particularly successful for him, as he previously secured gold in the men's F13 javelin throw at both the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2026 in Delhi and the Indian Open Para Athletics Championships in Bengaluru. He also excelled at the Asian Para Games qualifiers, achieving a throw of 59.08 meters.

India's Podium Sweep in Men's Shot Put F46

Earlier in the day, India celebrated its second podium sweep of the Games, with Sachin Khilari, Mohd Yasser, and Praveen taking home gold, silver, and bronze, respectively, in the men's shot put F46 event. Khilari, a Paralympic medallist, clinched gold with a record-setting throw of 15.87 meters on his final attempt. Continued Dominance in Discus Throw

India's strong performance continued in the men's discus throw F43/F44/F62/F64 final on Day 2, where Devender Kumar, Rakesh, and Pardeep Kumar secured all three podium positions. Devender won gold with 781 Raza points, Rakesh took silver with 771 points, and Pardeep earned bronze with 669 points. Notably, Pardeep recorded the longest throw of the competition at 51.15 meters but finished third due to the Raza points system, which adjusts for varying disability classifications.

In addition, Bhagyashri Jadhav contributed to India's medal tally by winning silver in the women's shot put F34. She achieved a personal-best throw of 8.19 meters on her third attempt, finishing behind China's Lijuan Zou, who set a Games record with a throw of 9.07 meters.
