This transition occurred at the Gandhi Ground in Nagrota Bagwan during a three-day Bal Mela, which celebrated the 71st birthday of RS Bali, the Chairman of HPTDC. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Minister Rajesh Dharmani, and RS Bali, who welcomed the new members by presenting them with the party's traditional attire.

Joining Sareen in this political move were Rajesh Chaubiyal, Ichha Ram Tandon, Yograj Mahajan, Vishal Singh, Rajat Sharma, Vikas Dhiman, and Vikas Singh. All of them were previously part of AAP, where Sareen held the position of state spokesperson.

Manish Sareen expressed that he and his supporters were motivated by the Congress party’s policies, which they feel focus on the welfare of both the state and the nation. He highlighted that Congress is the only party that has consistently aimed for progress and public interest.
