Imphal, Aug 5: Y Khemchand Singh, the Chief Minister of Manipur, emphasized the government's dedication to safeguarding citizens' privacy while advancing digital transformation efforts.
During the opening session of the inaugural State-Level Digital Governance, AI, Cyber Security, and Skilling Workshop, which was co-hosted by the state's IT Department and Microsoft India, Singh articulated the administration's vision of fostering a digitally empowered, inclusive, and future-ready Manipur.
"Our objective is to establish a secure, citizen-focused, and inclusive digital framework that ensures every individual, regardless of their location, can access efficient, transparent, and trustworthy government services," he stated.
He highlighted that the collaboration with Microsoft aligns with the state's ambition to utilize technology for enhancing governance, creating opportunities for the youth, and improving public service delivery.
Singh noted that Microsoft's training programs would equip young people, government officials, and entrepreneurs with essential skills in emerging fields such as AI and cybersecurity.
"These competencies will enhance job prospects, stimulate innovation, and foster entrepreneurship across various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, education, tourism, and digital services," he added.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government's commitment to bolstering digital governance while ensuring that technological advancements are beneficial for all segments of society.
He assured that the administration would continue to prioritize the privacy and security of citizens in the rollout of technology-driven initiatives.
