Silchar, Apr 5: As the election campaign reaches its final phase, Manipur's Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh emphasized the legacy of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee while rallying support for BJP candidate Rajdeep Goala in Udharbond.

During a public gathering at Rongpur, Singh remarked that Vajpayee's political approach was founded on integrity and a commitment to the nation, contrasting it with what he termed the 'opportunistic politics' of earlier times.

He praised the current leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for continuing this legacy, asserting that it has positioned India for swift development and increased global stature.

Focusing on the Northeast, Singh acknowledged Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for ushering in a new era of growth in Assam.

“From Guwahati to emerging urban areas, we have witnessed significant advancements in infrastructure, connectivity, and urban development,” he stated.

In a direct appeal to voters, Singh encouraged support for BJP candidate Rajdeep Goala, asserting that the party's governance record is clear and commendable.

“When development is evident and leadership is strong, the choice becomes obvious. Ongoing support for the BJP is crucial to maintain this progress,” he added.

Earlier, Goala addressed members of the Manipuri community, reflecting on his deep-rooted connection with them as a two-time MLA from Lakhipur.

“I have always maintained a close bond with the Manipuri community, and I trust that support continues here in Udharbond,” he expressed.

He acknowledged community leaders for enhancing grassroots engagement, especially in the 22 Manipuri villages within the constituency.

With a voter base exceeding 1.84 lakh, Goala noted that this decentralized approach has broadened the BJP's outreach.

“Our campaign has reached every household, making voter interaction more impactful,” he remarked.

Confident in the party's chances, Goala indicated that the feedback from the ground suggests a strong mandate for the BJP.

He assured that local issues and developmental needs would be prioritized if he is elected.
