Tim Seifert's Impactful Performance
A powerful half-century from Tim Seifert propelled MSG to victory, as they defeated the Trent Rockets by five wickets in the final held at Lord's on Sunday.
Goenka Praises Team Spirit
In a post on X, Goenka stated, "Champions in our very first season! @ManchesterSG100 What a night it has been at Lord's, a proud moment for all of us in the Super Giants family. This was a team effort from the first game to the last. Tim, what an innings. Noor, a brilliant spell with the ball and wickets at the times we needed them."
He also commended Jos Buttler's leadership, especially as a stand-in captain for Aiden Markram, highlighting how the squad united during the knockout stages. "Jos has led from the front all season, and the way the whole squad came together through the knockouts is what turned this season around. Congratulations to Jos and to every player who made this happen. And a special thank you to our supporters, you willed this team on all the way. This one is for you," he added.
Seifert's Stellar Campaign
Seifert had an outstanding performance, earning both the 'Player of the Match' and 'Player of the Tournament' awards. He scored 394 runs in 10 innings, averaging 49.25 with a strike rate of 168.37, including five fifties.

MSG won the toss and chose to field first. Ben Duckett contributed 31 runs off 24 balls, forming a partnership of 48 runs with Finn Allen (15). However, the Rockets struggled, collapsing to 95/5, largely due to Noor Ahmed's impressive bowling (3/33). Aneurin Donald scored 38 runs off 19 balls, but his dismissal marked a turning point. Contributions from Mitchell Santner (20) and Lewis Gregory (32) helped the Rockets reach a total of 158/8, with Sonny Baker (2/34) and Josh Tongue (1/27) also performing well.
MSG's Chase to Victory
In response, Seifert and Paul Walter (22 off 14 balls) put together a solid opening partnership of 66 runs. Jos Buttler added a quick 23 runs off 14 balls. Seifert reached his fifty in just 23 balls, becoming the first player to score five fifties in a single tournament edition. He finished with 72 runs off 38 balls, supported by Leus du Plooy (27* off 18 balls). With three runs needed from the last three balls, Liam Dawson hit the winning six, securing victory with five wickets and two balls to spare. Mohammad Amir was the standout bowler for the Rockets, taking 3 wickets for 29 runs.
