Man Arrested for Alleged Rape of Four-Year-Old in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh

In a troubling incident in Kasganj district, Uttar Pradesh, a man has been accused of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl. The suspect was apprehended by police following a shootout during an attempted escape, as reported by a police official on Sunday.
Details of the Assault
According to police reports, the alleged assault occurred on Friday in a colony within the jurisdiction of Kasganj Kotwali. The accused, identified as 45-year-old Pradeep Joshi, was attempting to flee when law enforcement received a tip-off regarding his whereabouts.
Police Confrontation
Upon realizing that police had surrounded him near the Nadarai canal picnic spot, Pradeep opened fire on the officers. In response, police returned fire, injuring him in the leg before taking him into custody.
Evidence and Legal Action
Authorities recovered a firearm and ammunition from the suspect. He has since been admitted to a district hospital for treatment. The police have initiated legal proceedings under various sections of the Arms Act, in addition to filing a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
