Arrest of a 35-Year-Old Man

Authorities have apprehended a 35-year-old man on charges of raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter. The arrest took place on Sunday, as reported by the police on Tuesday.


Details of the Incident

According to Additional Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar Singh, a female police constable filed a complaint stating that her stepfather assaulted her daughter on December 25 while she was alone at home.


Discovery and Legal Action

The case came to light when the girl confided in her teacher, who subsequently informed the police. Singh noted that based on the complaint, charges were filed against the accused under Section 65(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
