Mamata Banerjee Addresses Alleged Attack on TMC Office

Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee, the former Chief Minister of West Bengal, has finally spoken out regarding the alleged attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) office located on Camac Street. This incident, reportedly carried out by BJP activists, has prompted her to threaten protests outside the residences of BJP leaders in New Delhi.

During a Facebook Live session on Thursday at approximately 5 PM, Banerjee accused the BJP of sending thugs to vandalize the TMC office belonging to her nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, who also serves as the party's General Secretary and the MP for Diamond Harbour.

She stated, "The BJP dispatched goons to our office in the early hours. They destroyed all our documents and records. Four of our party members were locked inside and subjected to torture. Despite the proximity of the Shakespeare Sarani Police Station, no action was taken by the police. We are monitoring the involvement of various police stations, including that one. The BJP should remember that their time in power is not eternal," Banerjee expressed during her live address.

Following this, she outlined her intentions to escalate the protests regarding this incident and other issues to the national capital.

"If necessary, we will extend our democratic protests to New Delhi. How long can they suppress us? How long will these injustices continue? If they do not cease, I will personally travel to New Delhi to protest in front of the homes of BJP leaders," she declared.

Additionally, Banerjee accused the BJP-led West Bengal government of disseminating false information regarding her security as a former Chief Minister.

"The state government has not provided me with the security I am entitled to as a former Chief Minister. Stop spreading falsehoods. My security was revoked long ago, and now they are misleading the public. I do not require any security from them," she stated.

Banerjee also highlighted that since the conclusion of the West Bengal Assembly elections earlier this year, over 4,000 TMC offices have been forcibly taken over by the BJP.

"They are filing new FIRs against us daily. I want to caution them; they will tire of filing FIRs, but they will not be able to halt our progress," the former Chief Minister warned.
