Mamata Banerjee's Strong Stance Against BJP
During the election campaign in West Bengal last week, Mamata Banerjee, the chairperson of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and the state's Chief Minister, launched a fierce attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which she labeled as "anti-Bengal." While campaigning for candidates contesting from various seats in Cooch Behar district, CM Banerjee pledged to defend Bengal, safeguard the rights of its citizens, and maintain its secular fabric. "As long as I stand here, I will not allow these 'anti-Bengal landlords' to inflict any pain or suffering on the people of this land. I will fight to protect Bengal, secure the rights of those I was elected to serve, ensure a bright future for this beautiful state, and defend our secular structure and inclusive spirit against any forces attempting to undermine it," she declared.
Political Journey and Commitment
In her message, she expressed the need for the people's support, emphasizing their importance throughout her political journey. Reflecting on her long career, she stated that she has always remained true to her ideology and has walked every step of this journey alongside the people. "From my days in student politics to serving three terms as Chief Minister, I have always walked this path with the people. This has never changed, nor will it ever change. There is no greater joy in my life than being among 'Maa, Mati, Manush.' You are my greatest asset," she added. Mamata Banerjee campaigned for several TMC candidates, including Sablu Barman from Mathabhanga, Harihar Das from Shitalkuchi, Abhijit Deb Bhowmik (Hippie) from Cooch Behar South, Suman Kanjilal from Alipurduar, Birendra Bara from Kalchini, Rajiv Tirki from Kumargram, Subhash Chandra Roy from Falakata, Jayprakash Toppo from Madarihat, Udayan Guha from Dinhata, and Sangeeta Roy Basunia from Sitai.
