Mamata Banerjee's Bold Claims Against BJP

West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, has launched a fierce attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that after securing victory in the state assembly elections, she will also conquer Delhi. Speaking at an election rally in Chaurangi on Thursday, Banerjee expressed her determination to unite all opposition parties to eliminate the BJP from power at the center. She stated, 'I have noted down the names of all those acting as brokers for the BJP—from A to Z, including their residences. Do you think you can keep an eye on us? Every individual you have inducted into your party has undergone a thorough background check before being brought into the BJP, and your appointments have been made based on the same criteria.'

A Call to Action Against Injustice

The Chief Minister emphasized, 'Remember, you do not possess the capability to defeat us. We fight against injustice; we fight for our rights. I was born in Bengal, and I will take my last breath here. I am confident that I will win in Delhi; once I achieve victory in Bengal, I will bring all political parties together to accomplish this. I have no desire for power; my only wish is to completely eradicate the BJP from Delhi. Their downfall in Bengal is certain, but we must also remove them from Delhi. Keep this firmly in your mind.'

Upcoming Elections in Chaurangi

Alongside other constituencies in Kolkata, elections for the Chaurangi seat will take place on April 29 during the second phase. Mamata Banerjee held a rally where she urged voters to support TMC candidate Nayana Bandopadhyay, a two-time sitting MLA, against BJP's Santosh Pathak. This seat is considered a stronghold for the TMC, having been under its control since the party's formation in 2011. Prior to the delimitation of seats in the state, this constituency was known as Chaurangi; it was once a bastion for the Congress until Subrata Mukherjee joined the TMC in 2001.
