Kolkata: In a dramatic electoral contest, Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal and leader of the TMC, has regained her lead over BJP's Suvendu Adhikari in the crucial Bhabanipur constituency following the third round of vote counting on Monday.


As per the latest figures from the Election Commission, Banerjee is currently ahead by 898 votes, having secured 9,359 votes compared to Adhikari's 8,461.


This shift in momentum comes after Adhikari had a significant lead of 1,558 votes in the second round.


Banerjee kicked off the day with a robust lead of 1,996 votes in the first round, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the counting process in this constituency.
