Mamata Banerjee's Call for Unity in Bengal Elections

On Friday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urged the public to support the 'Mother, Soil, People' candidates during the second phase of the assembly elections. She accused the BJP of attempting to undermine Bengal's culture.

In a post on social media, CM Banerjee indirectly criticized the BJP, asserting that the state would not be governed or controlled from Delhi. Emphasizing the importance of her homeland, she expressed her commitment to fiercely protect Bengal.

In areas like Chaurangi, Bhawanipur, Jadavpur, and Tollygunge, I witnessed people ready to stand firm, united, and prepared to defend Bengal, its identity, and its future. Those who believe they can control Bengal's politics from Delhi, divide its people, and tarnish its culture are utterly mistaken. The memory of this land is long, and its backbone is strong.

Democratic Resistance Against Attempts to Weaken Bengal

She further stated that any attempts to weaken Bengal would be met with a 'strong democratic response.' Accusing the BJP of trying to strip Bengal of its rights and impose its agenda, she viewed these elections as a form of resistance.

Those conspiring from Delhi to take away Bengal's rights and impose their agenda must understand that the people of Bengal are watching closely, and they will respond through their votes. Every attempt to weaken Bengal will face decisive democratic opposition. This election is about resisting a calculated effort to weaken Bengal and gain control over it.

Mamata Banerjee also highlighted the development and welfare initiatives undertaken by the ruling TMC, stating that despite 'continuous interruptions,' Bengal has progressed. She appealed to the public to rise above their differences and vote for TMC once again to unite for Bengal's identity.

Bengal's Development Amid Challenges

She noted that development has reached every household in Bengal despite ongoing challenges. Our welfare schemes serve as lifelines for the people, and no force—no matter how powerful it perceives itself—can take them away. Today, Bengal stands proudly for progress, peace, and dignity. The love and trust of the people are our greatest strengths, inspiring us to move forward and thwart every attempt to weaken Bengal.

I urge every citizen to rise above their differences, stand united, and vote to protect Bengal's language, culture, and future. Vote for Nayana Bandopadhyay from Chaurangi, Debabrata Majumdar from Jadavpur, Arup Biswas from Tollygunge, and every candidate representing 'Mother, Soil, People.'
