Mamata Banerjee Criticizes Modi Government During Election Campaign
Chief Minister's Strong Remarks Against the Central Government
On Sunday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a fierce critique of the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her election campaign. She accused the BJP of instilling fear in West Bengal by bringing in military vehicles, asserting that the people of Bengal will not be intimidated under any circumstances. Banerjee emphasized that they will confront this battle through democratic means and will defeat the BJP.
Accusations of Religious Politics Targeting Migrants
Mamata Banerjee leveled serious allegations against the BJP, claiming that they are exploiting the sentiments of migrant workers. She asserted that laborers are being coerced into taking oaths on the Gita and other religious texts to vote in favor of the BJP. The Chief Minister condemned this as the lowest point in political conduct.
Direct Attack on PM Modi
While discussing the Women's Reservation Bill, Mamata Banerjee directly targeted PM Modi. She remarked that the government faced a setback in the Lok Sabha regarding the bill last Friday. The Chief Minister sarcastically noted that the Prime Minister is now pretending to cry to hide his defeat and tarnished image.
She questioned why, if the bill was passed in 2023, it has not been effectively implemented yet. Banerjee pointed out that while the BJP claims to honor women, their intentions are questionable.
A Busy Day of Election Rallies
Sunday was a hectic day for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as she kicked off her campaign in Tarakeshwar, followed by addressing gatherings in Kalna, Manteshwar, and Bardhaman South assembly constituencies. Political analysts believe that Banerjee's aggressive statements could further intensify electoral polarization in the state.
