Mamata Banerjee Calls for Unity Against BJP Amid Protests

Mamata Banerjee's Strong Stand Against BJP
The leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Mamata Banerjee, declared on Tuesday that she is prepared to travel to Delhi to join the protests organized by the 'Cockroach People’s Party' (CJP) if necessary. During her address at TMC's 'Martyrs' Day' rally in Kolkata, she emphasized the need for opposition unity against the BJP, stating, "We have consistently supported the CJP. If the situation demands, I will go to Delhi and participate in their protests."
Banerjee further asserted that the time has come for the 'INDIA Alliance' to unite against the BJP. She appealed to all political parties across the nation, including those in Bengal, to come together.
Referring to the protests that took place in Delhi on Monday, Banerjee noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi altered his route following alleged police actions against students. She accused the BJP-led government of crossing all limits of dictatorship, claiming that the public is aware of the BJP's oppression, which she believes surpasses even that of Hitler and Stalin. She described this struggle as a movement to save democracy.
Banerjee also alleged that the BJP attempted to disrupt TMC's 'Martyrs' Day' event, claiming that around 600 armed bikers tried to destroy the stage. She mentioned that she, along with Abhishek and other leaders, managed to secure the stage against the BJP's continuous attacks, despite receiving no assistance from the police after multiple notifications. "We understand who is behind this," she added.

Targeting the BJP-led state government, Banerjee labeled it a regime of fear. She accused them of murdering and harassing many of her party's workers. She stated that they tried to prevent her from rallying but failed. Banerjee announced her plans to visit districts in West Bengal soon, challenging those who might try to stop her, saying, "I will soon tour the districts and see how your guards attempt to stop me."

Banerjee accused the BJP of targeting TMC leaders through investigations and lawsuits, claiming that over 14,000 cases have been filed against them. She stated, "They have registered more than 14,000 cases against our leaders; when they come out of jail, we will welcome them with garlands." On the issue of voter lists, she alleged that those who manipulated votes and removed names from the lists would soon be exposed.

Additionally, the TMC chief criticized the BJP for failing to fulfill promises related to various schemes, including the Annapurna Bhandar scheme, dearness allowance, and the pay commission. She remarked that it is shameful that the government has not delivered on its commitments across all sectors.
