Mallikarjun Kharge Discusses Congress Strategies During Uttarakhand Visit

Kharge's Visit to Rudrapur

On Sunday, Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president of Congress and leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, visited Rudrapur in Uttarakhand. During his visit, he addressed the party's preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. Responding to questions regarding the tours of party leaders, he stated, "As the AICC president, I cannot be here every day, but our entire team and workers are firmly present on the ground. Do Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, or the new BJP president visit here daily? We come when we need to boost the morale of our workers. We are not here as tourists."

Demand for Accountability on Ram Mandir Donations

Kharge launched a direct attack on the central government regarding alleged irregularities in donations for the Ram Mandir. He emphasized that Congress was the first to raise concerns about the temple's property management. He remarked, "From the appointment of trust members to the temple's inauguration, the initiation of worship, and the hoisting of the flag, the Prime Minister has personally overseen everything. Since he has made all the decisions, he should come to Parliament and provide answers to the nation regarding this controversy."

Party's Stance on FCRA and Delimitation Issues

Mallikarjun Kharge announced the party's opposition to the government's actions related to the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). He mentioned that a strategy would be formulated following a multi-party meeting and discussions among floor leaders scheduled for the next day. Regarding the delimitation issue, he clarified that in a democracy, no one's opinions should be suppressed, but Congress's position is clear, and the party will support a consensus decision among all parties.

Kharge Comments on Student Protests

Speaking about the ongoing student protests in Ranchi concerning irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC examinations, Kharge praised Rahul Gandhi for being the first to highlight this issue. He noted that Rahul Gandhi visited Kota to engage with students and gave national recognition to the movement. Students have gained significant encouragement from Rahul Gandhi's campaign and are now firmly voicing their rights.
