In a post on the social media platform X, Anwar Ibrahim wished Vijay well and highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties between Malaysia and Tamil Nadu. He noted the longstanding social and cultural connections that have existed between the two regions.

In his message, he referenced the popular song “Oru Viral Puratchi” from Vijay's film ‘Sarkar,’ describing it as a symbol of the democratic movement against corruption. He stated that this movement is now on the path to making history.

Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that the people of Tamil Nadu have chosen Vijay not just as an actor but as a responsible leader. He remarked that this change reflects the public's trust and the power of democracy.

He further mentioned that the relationship between Malaysia and Tamil Nadu is strengthened by the Indian diaspora, with millions of people of Indian origin residing in Malaysia, including a significant Tamil-speaking community.

Meanwhile, Vijay took the oath of office as the 13th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by numerous political and film personalities, including Rahul Gandhi, Vijay's family, and actress Trisha Krishnan.

In the election results, TVK secured an impressive 108 out of 234 seats, although the party fell slightly short of a majority. Subsequently, the formation of the government was made possible with the support of Congress and other parties.

Established in 2024, TVK has been in the spotlight due to Vijay's long-standing engagement with social issues and corruption through his films. Even before entering politics, he was known for his activism on public interest matters.
