Train Incident in Delhi-NCR

On Tuesday morning, a significant train accident was narrowly avoided on a busy rail route in Delhi-NCR. Six freight train cars derailed unexpectedly between the Ghaziabad and New Delhi sections of the Delhi Division. As a result, train services on the Ghaziabad-Delhi route have been completely disrupted.


Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities due to the incident.


Railway Officials Respond

Following the derailment, senior railway officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) and the Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Technical and relief teams were promptly deployed to repair the tracks and remove the derailed cars to restore traffic as quickly as possible.


Impact on Train Services

The derailment has led to the cancellation of several EMU local trains operating between Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Delhi, and New Delhi. According to railway officials, a total of 53 trains have been affected by this disruption. As part of the arrangements, 24 trains have been diverted from the Delhi-New Delhi route, while 16 passenger trains have been canceled.


Additionally, five passenger trains have been partially canceled, and eight trains have been regulated, including those heading to Anand Vihar from the Moradabad division and North Central Railway routes.


Many passenger trains are being diverted to or from Ghaziabad instead of New Delhi. The route for the Saharanpur-Delhi passenger train has been altered, now running via Sahibabad-Delhi Sarai Rohilla. Schedules for trains traveling to and from Aligarh and Palwal have also been modified.
