Major Success Against Naxalites in Jharkhand: Five Arrested with Weapons
Significant Police Operation in Jharkhand
Recently, Pappu Lohara, the leader of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad, who was a wanted militant with a bounty of ₹10 lakh, was killed in an encounter with security forces. Another senior member of the group, Prabhat Ganjhu, who had a reward of ₹5 lakh on his head, also lost his life during the clash. Following this, authorities achieved another significant breakthrough.
In Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, five Naxalites, including an area commander from the banned outfit Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), were apprehended. The police seized weapons and ammunition from their possession.
A police official reported on Friday that based on intelligence inputs, it was revealed that seven to eight TPC Naxalites were planning to execute a crime in the Tarheisa forest area. In response, Superintendent of Police (SP) Anjani Anjan formed a special police team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amit Kumar Anand to take necessary action against them on Thursday night.
The SP confirmed that during the search operation, five Naxalites, including the area commander, were arrested, and a cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered. The arrested individuals have been identified as Avadhesh Kumar alias Prashant Ji (Palamu), Aditya Ganjhu, Deven Ganjhu, Dharam Ganjhu (Chatra), and Rooplal Ganjhu (Hazaribagh).
The police also confiscated an AR-15 M4 American carbine rifle, an AR-15 M4 carbine magazine, a 7.62 mm bore pistol, a 7.62 mm bore magazine, 28 rounds of live ammunition of various calibers, and nine mobile phones from the arrested Naxalites.
