Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Tuesday that three political entities—the Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and Kashmir Freedom Front—have officially distanced themselves from the separatist coalition known as the Hurriyat Conference.
Shah emphasized that this decision reflects the people's faith in the Indian Constitution.
This announcement coincided with Shah's three-day tour of Jammu and Kashmir.
He stated on 'X', "Three more organizations, namely Jammu Kashmir Islamic Political Party, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Democratic League, and Kashmir Freedom Front, have disassociated from the Hurriyat. This is a significant indication of the people's confidence in the Constitution of India in the valley."
The Home Minister further noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a united and strong India has gained additional support, as a total of 11 organizations have now rejected separatism and expressed their commitment to the nation.
During his visit, Shah also inspected a forward post along the India-Pakistan International Border on Monday.
He is expected to assess the security situation in the Union Territory on Tuesday.
