Major Maoist Arrests in Chhattisgarh: Security Forces Strike a Blow Against Insurgency
Significant Arrests in Sukma District
In a notable achievement, security personnel in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, have detained three Maoists, each with a significant bounty on their heads. The suspects, identified as Dodi Podia (36), Dodi Pandu (18), and Dodi Nandu (28), were apprehended by a collaborative team from the Central Reserve Police Force’s 165th battalion and local law enforcement in their home village of Gondpalli, under the jurisdiction of Jagargunda police station.
These individuals are believed to be involved in the murder of a temporary teacher, known as Shiksha Doot, which took place in the district last year. Podia was recognized as a member of the platoon party committee, while Pandu was affiliated with the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army’s company number 10. Both had a reward of Rs 8 lakh for their capture, whereas Nandu was linked to a bounty of Rs 5 lakh.
The trio is suspected of participating in the tragic killing of Dodi Arjun, the Shiksha Doot, on September 13 of the previous year in Gondpalli, where he was brutally attacked and strangled, allegedly due to suspicions of him being a police informant.
In a separate operation, security forces discovered a large cache of explosives hidden in the Botetong forests. Acting on intelligence regarding Maoist activities, a coordinated effort was executed by the district force alongside the CoBRA 203 battalion, resulting in the recovery of a substantial amount of ammunition and explosive materials.

The operation was initiated following credible intelligence about Maoist presence in the area. On Thursday, a joint team was dispatched to investigate, leading to the discovery of explosives strategically hidden by Maoists, intended for targeting security forces. This recovery occurred in the forested vicinity of the Mettaguda camp in Botetong village.
The successful seizure of these hazardous materials represents a significant advancement in the ongoing efforts to combat Maoist activities and ensure the safety of security personnel in the region. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, reaffirming their dedication to maintaining stability and security in the affected areas.
