Major Drug Trafficking Arrest Made by Nurpur Police

Significant Arrest in Drug Trafficking Case

The Nurpur Police have made a significant advancement in their efforts to combat drug trafficking. Under the Anukampa Niyukti Policy, the Police District’s Proclaimed Offender Cell apprehended a woman identified as a Proclaimed Offender in two cases related to the NDPS Act.


On July 18, 2026, authorities arrested Rajesh Kumari, approximately 50 years old and the spouse of Rakesh Kumar, at Tibba, Ludhiana (Punjab). She is a resident of Tamota village, Indora tehsil, Kangra district.


Rajesh Kumari was wanted in connection with the following cases:



  • FIR No. 123/2019, Section 21 NDPS Act, Police Station Indora

  • FIR No. 38/2020, Section 21 NDPS Act, Police Station Indora


After her arrest, she was taken for a medical examination at Civil Hospital Indora, and her family was notified. Subsequently, she was handed over to the Investigating Officer (I/O) at Police Station Indora for further legal action.


The accused is scheduled to appear before the Hon’ble Court tomorrow. Police officials have stated that their campaign against proclaimed offenders will persist vigorously, ensuring that those who evade the law will face consequences.
