Major Drug Bust in Uttar Pradesh: Illegal Liquor Worth ₹10 Lakhs Seized

Significant Seizure of Illegal Alcohol in Mau District

In a significant operation, law enforcement in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, intercepted a shipment of illegal liquor valued at approximately ₹10 lakhs, concealed within a milk tanker. This information was disclosed by a police official on Friday.

The illicit alcohol was seized during a special inspection conducted by Mau police along the Gorakhpur-Varanasi highway. Two individuals from Buxar district in Bihar were apprehended at the scene.

Authorities reported that the driver of the vehicle managed to escape and efforts are underway to locate him. Superintendent of Police (SP) Ilamaran G. highlighted this operation as a significant achievement for the Mau police. The liquor was cleverly hidden inside a compartment of the milk tanker. Acting on a tip-off, the police swiftly took action and confiscated the alcohol worth over ₹10 lakhs.
