In a notable effort against drug trafficking, the Nurpur Police made a crucial arrest recently.


On March 8, 2026, an FIR No. 78/2026 was filed at the Nurpur Police Station under Section 21 of the NDPS Act.


While conducting routine patrols near the Khushinagar, Himachal Tourism Hotel, Nurpur, officers stopped a man acting suspiciously. A search revealed that he was in possession of 6.32 grams of heroin (chitta).


The suspect has been identified as Vivek Singh, a 35-year-old resident of Village Khanoda, Post Office Tundi, Tehsil Chouhadi, District Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. He was apprehended immediately.


The confiscated narcotic has been secured following legal protocols, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the drug supply chain.
