Significant Drug Seizure at Mumbai International Airport

Authorities at Mumbai International Airport have successfully confiscated narcotics valued at ₹24.66 crore, leading to the arrest of three individuals, including two travelers. Customs officials disclosed this information on Thursday.


The drugs were reportedly smuggled into India from Thailand. An official indicated that one of the arrested individuals was waiting outside the airport to collect the shipment.


Based on intelligence reports, customs officers from the Mumbai zone intercepted the two travelers upon their arrival from Bangkok at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Wednesday.


Upon searching their luggage, officials discovered the concealed narcotics. The total weight of the seized drugs was 24.96 kilograms, with an estimated value of ₹24.66 crore.


During the interrogation, the travelers revealed that a third individual was waiting outside the airport to receive the shipment, who was subsequently apprehended.


Following this, all three suspects were arrested, and a case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigations have revealed the involvement of an international drug trafficking syndicate.
