Major Crackdown on Illegal LPG Refilling in Jaipur

Significant Action Against Illegal LPG Operations

In Jaipur, local authorities launched a significant operation on Monday targeting the illegal refilling of domestic LPG gas cylinders. Under the directive of District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, a special vigilance team led by District Supply Officer Priyavrat Singh Charan conducted raids at four different locations across the city.

During this operation, a total of 222 domestic gas cylinders were confiscated. Additionally, authorities seized 2 commercial gas cylinders, 2 pickup trucks, 2 motorcycles, 23 unverified small gas cylinders, a makeshift refilling device, two electronic scales, three flutes, and a regulator with a pipe.

Legal action has been initiated against 5 individuals involved in these illegal activities, with FIRs filed at the respective police stations. The raids primarily targeted areas such as Sodala, Janata Nagar, and Rakdi, where gas was being extracted from domestic cylinders for commercial use or black market refilling.

These unlawful refilling practices not only pose safety risks to consumers but also misuse government-subsidized domestic gas, making it difficult for the general public to obtain cylinders. The administration has issued a stern warning that strict measures will be enforced against such activities, aiming to dismantle these networks entirely.

This operation is viewed as a crucial step towards ensuring public safety and fair distribution of resources. Further investigations are ongoing.
