Major Counter-Terror Operation in Jammu: Two Jaish-e-Mohammad Terrorists Neutralized
Intense Operation in Udhampur District
In Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, a significant counter-terrorism operation led to the elimination of two Pakistani terrorists affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group. This operation spanned over 20 hours and concluded on Wednesday, according to official reports.
Among the deceased was Avu Mavia, a prominent JeM commander who had been active in the region for several years.
The military operation, dubbed 'Kiya', remains ongoing as the area continues to be monitored closely.
Acting on precise intelligence from local police, the Counter-Intelligence Force Delta and White Knight Corps coordinated with police and CRPF to execute a targeted counter-terror operation in the Jophar Forest area of Basantgarh. This strategic approach ensured that the terrorists could not escape.
The engagement with the terrorists began yesterday, and efforts were made to maintain contact. Following a well-coordinated response, both terrorists were successfully neutralized. The Army's White Knight Corps praised the operation for its inter-agency cooperation, tactical accuracy, and professionalism.
The operation was deemed a success, with officials confirming that the area remains under surveillance.
The bodies of the terrorists were located, one at the entrance of a natural cave and the other deeper inside. A significant cache of weapons, including an M4 carbine and an AK assault rifle, was recovered from the deceased terrorists.
