Narayanpur: In a significant operation, security forces reported the elimination of over 26 Naxalites during a confrontation in the dense forests bordering Narayanpur and Bijapur districts in Chhattisgarh, as confirmed by officials on Wednesday.


During the skirmish, a police supporter lost their life, and one police officer sustained injuries, according to reports.


The clash erupted in the thick woods between the Abhujmad and Indravati national park regions while a combined team from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was conducting an anti-Naxal mission, stated Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma.


Sharma, who oversees the home department, remarked, "More than 26 Naxalites, including some likely to be high-ranking members, were killed. Tragically, one police supporter was killed, and a police jawan was injured during the operation."
