Significant Arrest in Sitamarhi
Sitamarhi News: In response to the rising incidents of chain snatching in Sitamarhi, Bihar police have achieved a significant breakthrough. Authorities apprehended a cunning criminal who posed as a doctor during the day while committing chain snatching at night. Following directives from the Superintendent of Police, a special team was formed to conduct ongoing raids. On April 24, police arrested Munna Kumar near Shivhar Mor in the Dumra police station area while he was in possession of a stolen motorcycle.
Reports indicate that the suspect masqueraded as a doctor to avoid suspicion from the public. He would introduce himself as a doctor during the day and engage in chain snatching at night. The accused has confessed to his crimes, revealing that he had concealed his identity in Runisaidpur, claiming to be a resident of Shivhar and a homeopathic doctor.
Recovery of Fake Number Plates and Stolen Goods
During interrogation, the suspect made several shocking revelations. He admitted to collaborating with an accomplice, Santosh Singh, to carry out a series of chain snatching incidents in the city. To evade capture, he had hidden his identity in Runisaidpur, posing as a homeopathic doctor from Shivhar. Based on his information, police recovered several crucial items from his hideout, including a stolen motorcycle, a jewelry weighing machine, clothing seen in CCTV footage, fake number plates, and tools for altering number plates, along with gold and silver jewelry.
Police Intensifies Investigation
DSP Rajiv Kumar provided updates, confirming the suspect's arrest and stating that efforts are underway to gather information about other individuals involved. Currently, police are actively searching for additional members of the gang and are confident of revealing the entire network soon.
