Major Arrests at India-Nepal Border: Impersonation of IAS Officer Uncovered

Significant Border Security Operation

A significant breakthrough was achieved by the Armed Border Force (SSB) at the India-Nepal border near Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh. Security personnel apprehended five suspects traveling in a luxury vehicle at the Rupaidih border, one of whom falsely claimed to be an IAS officer. According to reports, these individuals were attempting to cross into Nepal in a high-end car adorned with a 'Government of India' plate and blue lights, which raised suspicions among the security forces. Upon stopping the vehicle for questioning, the main suspect attempted to assert authority by claiming to be an IAS officer.

On Monday, Deputy Superintendent of Police Pahu Kumar Singh reported that five individuals were trying to enter Nepal in a car equipped with sirens and red-blue lights at around 7:30 PM on Sunday. He noted that when the SSB personnel stopped them for inquiries, one individual identified himself as Dharmendra and claimed to be an IAS officer stationed at the Lucknow Secretariat.

Investigation Reveals the Truth

Upon further investigation, the SSB, along with local police and other security agencies stationed at the border, discovered that none of the five individuals were actually IAS officers, nor were they authorized to use the red-blue lights on their vehicle. The suspects were identified as Dharmendra Singh, Shubham Bajpai, Anmol Singh, Sachin Singh, and Swapnal Sahay, all residents of Lucknow. The vehicle they were traveling in was registered under the name of Dharmendra's wife's company, Priya Agency, based in Lucknow.

During the questioning, the suspects admitted that they were on their way to a casino in Nepal to gamble. Authorities recovered ₹2.17 lakh, six mobile phones, an electronic chip device, and a power bank from their possession.
