Significant Breakthrough in Organized Crime Crackdown

New Delhi: Authorities have apprehended a shooter affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang in New Delhi, linked to multiple cases of extortion, armed assaults, and illegal weapon distribution in Rajasthan, as reported by officials on Sunday.

This arrest represents a crucial advancement in the ongoing efforts to dismantle organized crime syndicates operating across various states.

The operation was executed by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police in collaboration with the Rajasthan Police on January 16.

Officials revealed that the Anti-Gangster Squad of the Crime Branch detained a shooter named Pardeep Sharma, also known as Golu, who is approximately 23 years old and hails from Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

He was arrested in connection with an FIR filed on December 31 of the previous year, under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Rai Singh Nagar Police Station in Ganganagar district, Rajasthan.

Authorities suspect that he is directly involved in the criminal activities committed by his associates in these cases.

In March 2025, members of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang allegedly extorted Rs 4 crore from a businessman in the Jawahar Nagar area of Ganganagar, Rajasthan.

When the businessman refused to comply, the gang reportedly tasked shooter Golu with firing at the complainant's residence to instill fear.

In May 2025, Golu and his accomplices allegedly opened fire at the businessman.

An FIR was subsequently lodged at the Jawahar Nagar Police Station in Rajasthan regarding this incident, leading to the arrest of Golu and his associates by the Rajasthan Police.

After being released on bail, Golu reportedly resumed his criminal activities, including supplying firearms to other members of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang.

Later, four gang members were arrested with a significant cache of weapons, and Golu was identified as the source of these arms.

In light of the recent surge in organized crime, extortion, armed attacks, and illegal firearm use in the national capital and surrounding areas, the Delhi Police's Crime Branch has intensified its efforts to locate active criminals.

The Anti-Gangster Squad has been specifically assigned to monitor and identify criminals operating in Delhi and neighboring states.

A dedicated team led by Inspector Krishan Kumar, including Sub-Inspectors Agam Prasad, Mukesh Kumar, Naveen, and Rajbir, along with Assistant Sub-Inspector Gobind and Head Constables Pappu and Anoop, was formed.

This team operated under the close supervision of ACP Bhagwati Prasad and the overall guidance of DCP Crime Branch Harsh Indora, IPS, to gather intelligence on the suspect's whereabouts.

On January 16, acting on specific intelligence and in coordination with the Rajasthan Police, a raid was conducted in the Uttam Nagar area of Delhi, resulting in Golu's arrest.

Following thorough interrogation, his involvement in the criminal cases was deemed suspicious, leading to his custody by the Rajasthan Police for further investigation.

Golu, originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was residing in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, and had previously been involved in a shooting incident in Ganganagar, Rajasthan, where he and his associates allegedly targeted businessmen under the orders of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang.

Officials confirmed that he remains in contact with the gang and continues to operate as an active member in the Rajasthan region.
