Major Arrest in Bihar: Young Man Linked to Pakistani Terror Network Detained
Significant Law Enforcement Action in Katihar
In a notable operation conducted by security agencies alongside local police in Katihar district, a significant breakthrough has been achieved. Authorities apprehended a 22-year-old man from Musapur village in the Kochad area, suspected of having ties to a Pakistani terrorist network. Police officials confirmed this operation on Monday.
The individual has been identified as Mohammad Ahad, a resident of Musapur village in Katihar. Security forces acted on specific intelligence that led to his initial detention. Following preliminary questioning and evidence examination, he was formally arrested on Monday.
Superintendent of Police Parichay Kumar stated that based on credible information, security forces detained Mohammad Ahad due to his alleged connections with a terrorist network based in Pakistan. After initial inquiries, he was officially arrested on Monday.
The investigation revealed that Ahad was in regular contact with a gangster named Rana Haseen, who is based in Pakistan, through platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp. Authorities indicated that Rana Haseen is linked to the terrorist network of Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti.
Further investigations uncovered that the accused exchanged messages related to anti-national activities, made phone calls, shared information about sensitive locations, and exchanged content associated with terrorist activities.
Another police official mentioned that while examining the mobile phones of other individuals connected to the suspect, no suspicious activities were found. Ahad's mobile device has been confiscated. In this sensitive case, not only local police but also various central security and intelligence agencies have arrived in Katihar to interrogate Mohammad Ahad, aiming to uncover any connections this network may have with other parts of Bihar or the country.
