Significant Weapons Seizure in Kakching District

A substantial cache of six weapons and explosives has been uncovered in the Kakching district of Manipur, as reported by local authorities on Thursday. The police indicated that this discovery occurred on Wednesday in the Wabagai Nathekong Turenmei area of the district.


According to police reports, the seized arms include an M-16 rifle, an SLR, a single-barrel shotgun, two single-barrel bolt-action rifles, and a 7.65 mm pistol.


The recovered explosives and ammunition consist of 10 grenades, four detonators, two arm rings, an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing approximately three kilograms, an explosive shell, a 51 mm mortar bomb, six tear smoke shells, and 71 cartridges.


Additionally, a drone along with its associated equipment was confiscated during the operation. Authorities have stated that security forces are continuing their search and surveillance operations in border and sensitive areas of the districts.
