In a significant move just before the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, President Droupadi Murmu executed a major administrative reshuffle involving governors and lieutenant governors across the nation on Thursday. An official statement from the President's office announced that R.N. Ravi, the governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the new governor of West Bengal, succeeding Dr. C.V. Anand Bose, who resigned on the same day.
As part of this extensive administrative reorganization, Vinay Kumar Saxena has been transferred from the position of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to become the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. Meanwhile, former diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Other notable changes include Shiv Pratap Shukla, the governor of Himachal Pradesh, being assigned as the governor of Telangana, while Jishnu Dev Varma, the governor of Telangana, has been moved to Maharashtra.
Additionally, senior leader Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as the governor of Nagaland, and retired Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain has been designated as the governor of Bihar. Furthermore, the outgoing Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, will now serve as the governor of Himachal Pradesh, and Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the governor of Kerala, will take on the additional responsibilities of the governor of Tamil Nadu.
