Murder Case in Thane: A Shocking Incident

Thane, July 28 – In a disturbing incident in Maharashtra, a man is accused of murdering his female partner, allegedly strangling her due to suspicions of her infidelity. Following the crime, he transported her body from Kolhapur to Thane in a vehicle, as reported by local authorities on Tuesday.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Prakash Ananda Patil from Shirgaon in Kolhapur district, has been apprehended by the police. Senior Inspector Vijay Kadbane from the Nerpoli police station informed that Patil was in a romantic relationship with 40-year-old widow Surekha Shivajine Aare, who resided in the same area. He suspected that she was involved with another man.

According to officials, the alleged murder took place on Sunday morning around 11 AM at Patil's farm in Shirgaon, where he reportedly strangled the woman. After committing the crime, he wrapped her body in cloth and placed it in his car, driving over 350 kilometers overnight to Kaseli in Bhiwandi, Thane district.

The police were alerted by a local resident in Bhiwandi on Monday morning, leading them to locate the vehicle and arrest Patil. Authorities have seized the car and sent the body for autopsy. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code for murder, and the case has been transferred to the appropriate police jurisdiction. The police are still investigating what Patil's plans were for disposing of the body.
