A significant development has emerged in the notorious case of Ashok Kharat, known as Bhondu Baba, in Nashik. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has initiated legal proceedings under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act concerning the distribution and sale of explicit videos related to sexual harassment. The head of the Cyber Cell emphasized that individuals violating the privacy of victims and profiting from these videos will face strict consequences.

The investigation revealed a shocking fact: videos of Ashok Kharat sexually exploiting women were being sold on social media and pornographic websites. Reports indicate that approximately 15 to 17 explicit videos linked to Kharat went viral on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram.

Those interested in viewing these videos were charged between 15 to 20 rupees per video, with some instances reaching up to 50 rupees. After payment, the video links were sent to the buyers. According to police, this abhorrent activity not only encouraged crime but also exposed the identities of several victims, causing irreparable harm to their privacy and social dignity.

Maharashtra Cyber Cell's Firm Action

Yashasvi Yadav, the head of the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, stated that an FIR has been filed, and four specific social media links have been identified as channels for disseminating this content. The investigative agency is now working to track down the accounts and individuals responsible for operating this digital racket. He assured that the culprits would be apprehended soon and brought to justice.

Ashok Kharat is accused of posing as a spiritual guru (Bhondu Baba) to ensnare multiple women, deceiving and sexually exploiting them. He recorded these incidents using hidden CCTV cameras in his Nashik office. Following numerous complaints, he was arrested on March 18 and has been in custody since.
