Maharashtra Congress Leader Criticizes Central Government Over Security Issues

Nana Patole, a key Congress leader from Maharashtra, has sharply criticized the central government for its failure to address security concerns following the Pahalgam incident. He raised questions about the government's handling of trade operations and the lack of accountability regarding terrorist activities. Patole's remarks highlight the need for a thorough discussion on national security and foreign policy in Parliament. He also emphasized the importance of addressing internal and external security challenges with leaders rather than just MPs. The Congress party is pressing for answers from Prime Minister Modi on these pressing issues, making this a significant political moment.

Congress Leader's Strong Remarks on Security Concerns

Maharashtra's prominent Congress figure, Nana Patole, has launched a scathing attack on the central government. He asserted that the 'sindoor' of 26 of our sisters in Pahalgam was erased, yet no terrorists have been apprehended to date. He explicitly stated that the operation to protect trade was halted. U.S. President Trump has repeatedly indicated that he threatened both India and Pakistan with trade sanctions, urging them to cease hostilities. This led to the suspension of the operation under his influence.

Patole further elaborated that this situation resembles a game played by children on computers. He questioned why the Prime Minister has not addressed the terrorists responsible for erasing the sindoor of our sisters. This raises a significant question for the citizens of the country. He claimed that what Mamata didi mentioned is a matter of concern for the people. The Prime Minister frequently travels abroad, spending taxpayers' hard-earned money. Why did no country stand with India during the operation? This is a point of contemplation for many.

He remarked that we still lack clarity on the Pulwama incident, which occurred in 2019. Modi continues to spread falsehoods, but such lies will no longer hold weight in front of the nation. Meanwhile, the Congress party questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would agree to a comprehensive debate in Parliament during the monsoon session regarding national security and foreign policy challenges after meeting with members of seven parliamentary delegations sent abroad. Congress MP Jairam Ramesh stated that it was natural for the Prime Minister to meet all 50 MPs who were part of these delegations to 32 countries. However, they have four straightforward questions they wish the Prime Minister to address.

Patole continued, stating that following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the internal and external security challenges should be discussed with leaders, not just MPs. Secondly, he inquired whether there would be a review similar to the Kargil Review Committee after the Kargil War, especially in light of the recent disclosures by the CDS in Singapore. Will there be an analysis? Will a report be generated? Will it be presented in Parliament?
