Maharashtra CM Critiques Rahul Gandhi's Political Approach

Fadnavis Takes a Jab at Rahul Gandhi

Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made a pointed remark about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday, suggesting that Gandhi has consistently made the same mistake throughout his life. Speaking to reporters in Pune, Fadnavis poetically criticized Gandhi, stating, "Throughout your life, Rahul Gandhi, you have made this error, cleaning the mirror while dust is on your face." Earlier in the day, he dismissed allegations against him as nonsense, lies, and an insult to voters.

Fadnavis on Public Mandate

In an article for a Marathi daily, Fadnavis expressed that those rejected by the public tend to reject the mandate itself. He remarked that if one cannot persuade the people, they resort to confusion, a tactic he claims Rahul Gandhi employs. Fadnavis further stated that the Congress party has been rejected by the public, which is why they are now blaming electronic voting machines (EVMs) for tarnishing the image of democracy.

Criticism of EVM Allegations

He pointed out that questioning EVMs has become a habit for opposition parties in every election in Maharashtra. All petitions against EVMs have been dismissed by the Supreme Court. Fadnavis also noted that Gandhi is a leader who "cannot accept failure." He questioned, "Are EVMs only correct in elections where the Congress government wins?" He urged respect for the public mandate, emphasizing that the people are watching closely, and excuses will no longer be tolerated, with accountability being established.
