In a shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh, a woman fatally shot her husband and brother-in-law due to a property dispute, then surrendered to the police while still holding the weapon. Upon her arrival at the police station, she declared, 'I have brought down my husband and brother-in-law; please take their bodies away.' The officers were taken aback by her bold statement.
Details of the Crime
The accused, Savita, aged 35 and an Anganwadi worker, reportedly shot her brother-in-law first, followed by her husband. Initial investigations suggest that the motive behind this tragic act was a dispute over property.
Dispute Over Land Valued at 5 Crores
According to the woman, her brother-in-law, Dinesh, was attempting to seize her land worth 5 crores located along a four-lane highway. She alleged that her husband, Radheshyam, was being influenced by Dinesh to consume substances, leading to frequent domestic violence. On the morning of the incident, after an argument where her husband was verbally abusive, she retrieved a pistol from under the bed. In a fit of rage, she shot her brother-in-law and then her husband. Savita claimed that she took this drastic step for the future of her three children, two daughters and a son, after enduring constant abuse.
Questions Raised About the Firearm
Family members of the deceased have raised concerns regarding the double homicide. The father of the victims and Savita's father-in-law questioned why there was a dispute when the land had already been divided between the brothers, Dinesh and Radheshyam. They also demanded to know the origin of the pistol found at the scene, urging for a thorough investigation and strict punishment for the accused.
Official Statements
Additional Superintendent of Police, Nitish Bhargav, stated that the woman acted out of anger stemming from domestic and property disputes. She surrendered at the police station with the weapon. The forensic science team is currently gathering evidence, and legal proceedings are underway.
