Madhya Pradesh to Host 27th Central Regional Council Meeting in 2027
Announcement of the Upcoming Council Meeting
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh announced that the 27th meeting of the Central Regional Council will take place in 2027 in the Ujjain district. He revealed that this proposal was approved by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah during the 26th meeting held in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, on May 19. This information was shared by the Chief Minister while addressing ministers before a cabinet meeting at the state secretariat in Bhopal.
Following the council meeting in Ujjain, the Union Home Minister will review preparations for the Singhast-2028, focusing on civil order, human resource management, and disaster management systems.
Madhya Pradesh's Progress Against Naxalism
Chief Minister Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh has successfully eradicated Naxalism, noting that Bastar was once considered a stronghold for such activities. He stated that hosting the 26th Central Regional Council meeting in Bastar sends a strong national message regarding the end of Naxalism in the country. The Chief Minister also discussed significant achievements of the government during the past week.
He welcomed the Madhya Pradesh High Court's decision regarding the long-standing dispute over the Bhojshala complex in Dhar district, assuring that the state government will respect the sentiments of all parties involved and ensure the implementation of the court's ruling. Additionally, he mentioned that the state government will collaborate with the central government to bring back the original statue of Maa Vagdev from abroad.
Support for Farmers and International Collaboration
Chief Minister Yadav expressed gratitude to the central government for increasing the minimum support prices (MSP) for crops such as rice, jowar, millet, cotton, sesame, and soybean, stating that this will benefit farmers during the ongoing Farmer Welfare Year. Speaking about the recent India-France conference, he noted that Madhya Pradesh will collaborate with France in various sectors. He added that approximately 150 representatives, including diplomats, policymakers, CEOs, and industrial representatives from Indian and French companies, participated in the conference.
