What is Special Intensive Revision (SIR)?
For general knowledge, Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is a process of voter list verification conducted by the Election Commission when it deems that the annual 'summary revision' is insufficient for cleaning up the voter lists. This comprehensive process includes door-to-door enumeration, submission of pre-filled forms, online submissions, and re-verification of old voter data. According to Article 324 of the Indian Constitution, the Election Commission has the authority to conduct SIR whenever it finds it necessary.
