Significant Changes in Administrative Positions

The government of Madhya Pradesh executed a substantial administrative reshuffle on Thursday, transferring 26 officials from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), including 14 district collectors.

Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, the collector of Bhopal, has been appointed as the secretary to the Chief Minister, while Priyank Mishra, the collector of Dhar, will take over as the new collector of Bhopal.

According to officials, the collectors of Sagar, Dhar, Rewa, Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Seoni, Shivpuri, Umaria, Shyopur, Maihar, Damoh, Mandla, Jhabua, and Betul have all been reassigned. Additionally, the divisional commissioner and the public instruction commissioner of Narmadapuram have also been changed.

Decisions Made in High-Level Meeting

This decision was reached during a meeting between Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, after which the General Administration Department (GAD) issued the transfer orders.

Sources indicated that discussions regarding this reshuffle had been ongoing since the Special Intensive Review (SIR) process initiated by the Election Commission last year. However, delays occurred due to the festive season and the budget session.

Inclusion of Women Officials

Among the transferred officials, nine are women, including Shilpa Gupta, Pratibha Pal, Sonia Meena, Sheetala Patle, Neha Meena, Rani Batad, Rakhi Sahai, Sheila Dahima, and Bidisha Mukherjee.

Of these, five have been appointed as district collectors. Pratibha Pal and Neha Meena were already serving as collectors, while Rakhi Sahai, Sheila Dahima, and Bidisha Mukherjee have received their first postings as district collectors.

This reshuffle comes ahead of the census set to begin statewide on April 16.
