Celebrating the Start of Shravan Month
Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, extended his greetings to the public on Thursday as the holy month of Shravan (Sawan) commenced. He announced that the state government has instructed officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for devotees and Kanwar pilgrims at religious sites across the state. CM Yadav described Shravan as a sacred month dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva and emphasized that the administration must guarantee that pilgrims undertaking the Kanwar Yatra face no difficulties during this period.
In a statement, CM Yadav expressed, "Today marks the beginning of the holy month of Shravan, and I sincerely wish the people of the state, the nation, and Ujjain a joyous month. This is undoubtedly a sacred time for us, during which we worship Lord Bholenath and dedicate the entire month to Him. Therefore, I have directed the administration at all pilgrimage sites to ensure that travelers do not encounter any issues and that their needs are adequately addressed. The administration is making necessary arrangements along the routes for Kanwar pilgrims."
The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is making every effort to facilitate Kanwar pilgrims, particularly at major Shiva temples such as Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, and Amarkantak, which attract large crowds during this month.
He further stated, "The government is coordinating arrangements for darshan, drinking water, parking, and other facilities, including food provisions. I urge all devotees to carry appropriate clothing due to the rainy season and to take special care of children. I hope everyone will cooperate with the administration to celebrate the festivals smoothly. The next two months will see several major festivals, followed by the festive seasons of Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali..."
Additionally, addressing the weather conditions, CM Yadav advised the public to conserve water and focus on low-water crops, considering the impact of El Niño during the monsoon.
