Chief Minister's Participation in Sacred Journey

On Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in the 'Sanskrit Kavad Yatra 2026' in Jabalpur, coinciding with the second Monday of the holy month of Shravan. During the event, he welcomed the devotees by showering them with flower petals and wished them a safe journey. Speaking to the media, Yadav noted that millions of devotees from Jabalpur, the city of Maa Narmada, set out as Kavadis to offer Narmada water to Lord Shiva. He extended heartfelt congratulations to everyone and expressed hopes that the sacred month of Shravan would fulfill their wishes and alleviate their life's challenges.


Environmental Message Highlighted

Yadav mentioned that countless devotees participated in the journey, bringing water from the Narmada River to offer to Lord Shiva. Earlier that day, Jitu Patwari, the President of the Madhya Pradesh Congress, also took part in the 'Sanskrit Kavad Yatra'. He described the event as an opportunity to convey an environmental message associated with the journey, emphasizing the need to protect and honor nature.


Call for Unity and Environmental Protection

Patwari stated that the Sanskrit Kavad Yatra is conducted with the belief that justice must be served to nature and its protection ensured. He highlighted the importance of trees, water, forests, and land, noting that the divine presence of Lord Bholenath is reflected in nature. Jabalpur is a city rich in culture and values, and countless Kavadis pray for happiness, peace, and prosperity for Madhya Pradesh, the nation, and the world. They advocate for global welfare and promote the message of love and brotherhood, 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'. He felt fortunate to participate in this Kavad Yatra.


Significance of the Shravan Month

He further urged people to pray together for the prosperity of the state and the country while ensuring justice and protection for nature. The month of Shravan holds great significance in Hinduism, starting on July 30 and concluding on August 28 this year. Devotees observe fasts on Mondays throughout the month to express their devotion to Lord Shiva.
